    YIF Vision and Mission

    “The most effective way I know to begin with the end in mind is to develop a personal mission statement or philosophy or creed. It focused on what you want to be (character) and to do (contributions and achievements) and on the values or principles upon which being and doing are based.” -Stephen Covey-

    Purpose

    To develop mindset of the Yorubas with big hearts, knowledge of self, integrity, self worth, and love of humanity.

    Mission Statement

    To use the sufferings of fellow citizens to make changes where needed.

    Vision

    To make life worth living for fellow Yoruba people regardless of what the country has to offer the race.

    Goals

    To achieve this vision, the Foundation aims and objectives are as given bellow:

    (1) Creation of mechanism for non-partisans co-operation among Yorubas at communal, local and international level.

    (2) Organization and development of institutional and administrative devices to:

    (a) Plan and actualize co-operation among Yorubas;

    (b) Investigate and research into issues, give advice, formulate policies, implement measures that will promote economic progress, social harmony and general well-being of the Yoruba States.

    (c) Initiate consultation and co-operation with Yoruba friendly individuals, NGOs, international bodies, etc with a view to linking them with relevant Yoruba state authorities to help in bridging identifiable development gaps.

    (3) Maintenance of non-partisan posture in political matters occasioning competition among Yoruba sons and daughters, but reserve the right to issue statement on political injustice that could be visited on the interest of the Yorubas, or that may generally cause disunity, instability and national backwardness.

    (4) Liaising with Yoruba sojourners in other countries with a view to orientate them to;

    (a) Form beneficial social organizations in their countries of residence;

    (b) Pursue noble entrepreneurial aspirations to assist in uplifting their kith and kin around them;

    (c) Network with YIF in Nigeria to explore trade and economic opportunities based on climatic endowment or developmental needs that could be exploited for international markets towards indigenous economic gains and prosperity;

    (d) Institutionalize the inculcation of good values, positive behaviors, bordering on honesty, integrity, hard work, and good neighborliness, as a cultural creed that will bring honour and respectable treatment for the average Yoruba person within the global community.

    (e) Seek and facilitate positive productive engagement for the job seeking professionals and occupational groups to eliminate or minimize destitution and criminal tendencies among their kiths and kins in foreign lands.

    (f) Link up indigenous Yoruba communities in other countries of the world with a view to;

    (5) Rekindling ancestral ties.

    (6) Exploring economic and cultural interaction and co-operation.

    (7) Promoting trade, human resources development on comparative advantage basis.

    (8) Establishing a global network of Yoruba nation.

    (9) Generating civilized diplomatic support (where necessary) for Yoruba around the world as indigenous or non-indigenous communities in cases of social, economic or political injustice that could be meted out to them.

    (10) Creating institutional framework and infrastructure within various Yoruba communities that will help in achieving its aims and objectives.
