LAGOS STATE UNIVERSITIES:

1. The Lagos State University – also known as LASU. Student size: 61,000 Resources Scholarship: No School library: Yes Student union: Yes Housing: Yes Sports facilities: Yes Tuition: 50,000-200,000.

2. Yaba College of Technology (also known as Yaba tech), founded in 1947, is Nigeria’s first higher educational institution. It is located in Yaba, Lagos. The college is a center of culture and heritage. Currently it has student enrollment of over 16,000 Yaba College of Technology is one of the leading academic institutions, recognized as a centre of excellence with 9 world-class Schools.

4. University of Lagos, one of the most outstanding universities in Nigeria. The University has a ranking of 3 out of all the universities in Nigeria. It is also among the oldest federal universities in Nigeria have its establishment in the year 1962. The University students are in various top positions across Nigeria.

OGUN STATE UNIVERSITIES:

1. Tai Solarin University of Education is the first University of education out of all the state universities in Nigeria and also all universities in Nigeria. It is ranked 31 in Nigeria with over 50,000 students. The University has scholarships available for prospective students.

2. Olabisi Onabanjo University. The university was founded July 7, 1982 as Ogun State University and was renamed Olabisi Onabanjo University on May 29, 2001 in honour of a great citizen of the state, Chief (Dr.) Olabisi Onabanjo whose efforts as the then civilian governor of Ogun State gave birth to the university.

3. Moshood Abiola Polytechnic is a tertiary learning institution in Abeokuta, Ogun State Nigeria. It is named after Moshood Kashimawo Abiola , who was elected President of Nigeria in 1993.

4. Federal Polygenic Ilaro. This polytechnic is one of the most popular polytechnics in the western part of Nigeria.

5. The University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (UNAAB) was founded January 1, 1988 by the Federal Government when four Universities of Technology, earlier merged in 1984, were demerged. This led to the creation of the first two Universities of Agriculture in Abeokuta.

EKITI STATE UNIVERSITIES:

1. University of Ado-Ekiti, as it is known today was at inception in 1982 known as (OAU) .

2. Afe Babalola University is a result-oriented institution for producing highly skilled and socially relevant graduates capable of applying scientific knowledge for the resolution of social and technological problems.

3. Federal Polytechnic Ado- Ekiti. Training for skills and expertise. The federal polytechnic of Ado-Ekiti was established in January 1977 in Jos, Plateau State. In 1978, federal polytechnic of Ado Ekiti was moved by the Federal Government of Nigeria to Akure, Ondo State in order to maintain an equitable spread of Federal Government institutions among the states of the Federation.

OSUN STATE UNIVERSITIES:

1. Osun State University is also one the few State Universities in Nigeria with mulitple campuses. the University was recently founded in 2006. However ranked 53 out of all the Universities in Nigeria. The University offers both masters degree and undergraduate degrees to prospective students in Nigeria and oversees.

2. Oduduwa University is a forward university in Nigeria with the aim of improving teaching and bringing in high standard research. Oduduwa is not yet included in the ranking of private universities in Nigeria however it is accredited by federal government of Nigeria.

3. Obafemi Awolowo University was established in the year 1962 and named after chief Obafemi Awolowo, a prominent Nigerian politician. The university is one of the oldest federal universities in Nigeria and also one of the best universities in Nigeria with a ranking of 4 out of all the universities in Nigeria. ONDO STATE UNIVERSITIES:

1. Adekunle Ajasin University is a state University in Nigeria with a ranking of 34 out of all universities in Nigeria.

2. Ondo State University of Science and Technology (OSUS TECH) is one of the youngest state Universities in Nigeria, established 2007.

3. Federal university of technology Akure (FUTA) was established in 1981, the University has grown tremendously, stretching its academic disciplines and research across six different school and thirty academic departments.

OYO STATE UNIVERSITIES:

1. Ladoke Akintola University of technology is the best state University in Nigeria. It was ranked 13 out of all Universities in Nigeria.

2. University of Ibadan was founded in the year 1948; know today as Nigeria’s oldest premier university.

3. Emmanuel Ayande College of Education, Oyo

4. Federal College of Special Education, Oyo

5. Federal School of Surveying, Oyo.

KWARA STATE UNIVERSITIES:

1. Kwara State University is a university of its kind in Nigeria that has recognized the urgent need for a university education that is focused on value re-orientation towards self-employment and job creation.

2. The Federal Polytechnic, Offa came into existence in 1992. A presidential pronouncement for its establishment was made at the Palace of His Royal Highness, Olofa of Offa, Oba Mustapha Olawoore Olanipekun Ariwajoye II, by the then Military President , Ibrahim Babangida during a state visit in 1991.

3. University of Ilorin recently became one of the top ranked universities in nigeria with a ranking of 1 according to National University Commission. This is one of the few federal universities in Nigeria with no strike throughout a student’s academic program.

KOGI STATE UNIVERSITIES:

1. Kogi State University offers many courses Admission: UME,DE Degree: Undergraduate programmers, Postgraduate degree programs(PGD), Master’s degree programs , Doctorate Degree programs. Student size: 9,000. Tuition: 20,000-250,000 Salem University.

2. Kogi state polytechnic also known as Kogi Poly is a higher education of learning to groom new leaders of tomorrow, it was founded in 1988 it offers degrees to prospecting students HND,NND

3. Salem University.

EDO STATE UNIVERSITIES:

1.Ambrose Alli University is a university in Nigeria established in 1981 formerly known as Edo State University. It was established by the then governor of Bendel- State (now Edo and Delta States) First known as Bendel State University, then Edo State University, it was later changed to its present name in commemoration of Alli.

2. The University of Benin (Uniben) was established in 1970, first as an Institute of Technology and was accorded the status of a full-fledged University by National Universities Commission (NUC) on 1st July, 1971. In his Budget Speech in April 1972, the then Military Governor of Mid-Western State, Col. S. O. Ogbemudia .

3. Igbinedion University Okada marks the realization of the dream of Sir, Dr. Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion, the Esama of Benin kingdom, to bequeath to future generations a University with international standard where academic calendar is faithfully run without interruption.
